I hate social media. Okay, that’s not 100% true. I hate our reliance on social media, the addictive nature of the medium, that it is so front and centre in our lives.
I also get mighty pissed at the damage it has done to good old fashioned internet forums.
Everything on social media is driven by algorithms. It can be weeks before I see something from a friend or family member on Facebook or Instagram, and mere minutes before I see yet another other advert for something I may have searched for once.
These systems exist to sell to use. We are turned into voracious consumers of bullshit. That’s not okay.
But still, I use social media daily. What do you think about social media in general? Useful? Invasive? Insipid?
