The World's Most Boring Superhero. Superman first appeared in Detective Comics on 18th April 1938, and he's been Mary Sue-ing throughout fandoms since then. The original boy scout. Perfect in every way. Every power imaginable. Zero real weaknesses (don’t say kryptonite, that’s just plot glue). Moral clarity that never wavers. The admiration of almost everyone around him.
Give me heroes with flaws. Give me heroes with weaknesses. Give me a guy, or girl, who struggles with the moral ambiguity of their role as a superhero. I mean, give me Batman.
